Joe Reid

MSW, SWC

Clinical Social Worker Candidate, Kind & Open-Hearted Adventurer, Psychodynamic Therapist

Joe specializes in supporting adults navigating the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.

Joe’s therapeutic approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory, helping clients uncover unconscious thoughts, emotions, and behaviors by exploring how past experiences influence their current lives. This process allows clients to identify patterns and work toward meaningful, positive change. Joe also integrates training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and RENEW school-to-career transition planning process into his practice.

Before joining THRIVE, Joe completed clinical training at Harvard University Counseling and Mental Health Services, where he worked with students from diverse backgrounds, including those marginalized by gender, race, and sexuality, and those recovering from traumatic experiences.

Joe holds an MSW from the Smith College School for Social Work and a BA from American University in Washington, D.C.

Joe offers therapy online and in-person at our Boulder, Colorado location
