When is payment due for my session?

Payment for session fees and copayments are due at the time of service. Your card will be charged the evening of your appointment.

Will my insurance cover my session?

We take BCBS, Anthem, United, Kaiser, Aetna and all Medicaid plans at this time. Our administrative assistant will provide a free insurance benefits check for you before you start services with us.

What if I’m still unsure about my insurance coverage?

You should call the number on the back of your card for “behavioral health” to get more clear about your specific coverage because everyone has a different plan and there are many plans on the market. Some plans cover the entire portion of your visit and some ask that you cover a copay. Call your insurance company and ask them, what is my behavioral health coverage? Also ask them, what is my deducible for behavioral health services, and ask them, do I have a copayment for outpatient behavioral health services?

What if I miss a session or cancel it late for a non-emergency reason?

Private insurance does not cover missed sessions or sessions that you cancel late; you will be charged for these sessions out of pocket. Private pay clients will be charged for missed sessions or sessions canceled late. For Medicaid clients, you will not be charged for missed appointments, but you will need to discuss a plan with your therapist if it is a re-occurring issue.

What if I don’t have an insurance plan that THRIVE accepts?

We are currently working to get credentialed with more plans in Colorado, but until then we are happy to provide you and your family with something called a “super-bill”. This is a special receipt that you can send to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you are unsure as to how much your plan will reimburse you for your sessions you can call them, and ask, what are my out of network benefits? Do I have a copay and a deductible to meet? Where do I send my super bills or claims to?

How much are services with THRIVE if I pay out of pocket?

A 50 minute session is $150 - $175 depending on your therapist’s level of experience.

Is there a sliding scale offered for clients in need?

Yes, many of our therapists will offer a sliding scale fee for clients in financial need or help advise you on how to apply for Medicaid.

I’m interested in Ketamine Assisted Therapy, what should I do?

Talk to your Thrive therapist about this. Many of our therapist have training and credentialing in Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP) and can explain to you the process. We collaborate with Skylight Psychedelics, a group practice of doctors who specialize in assessments for medication for KAP. If you haven’t started with a therapist at Thrive and are wanting to focus on KAP primarily, please include this information on the Contact us page.

Will my child’s therapist want to talk with me first?

Your therapist at Thrive is experienced in navigating issues related to your child or teen and is experienced with working with all sorts of families. Your therapist will want to meet with you, the parent/guardian, first to get a good sense of your child’s developmental history, social life, home life, and current functioning. They also may decide to schedule regular sessions with you. Your therapist will help to assess what format is best for your family and for the growth of your child or teen.
